“ Celebrated my 50th birthday at Mama’s Fish House, and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience felt like something out of a movie. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking — lush, meticulously kept landscaping, a serene private beach, and a restaurant that’s as beautiful as any I’ve ever seen. We were lucky enough to be seated at a window table and greeted with a personalized birthday card at the table, which was such a thoughtful touch. The restaurant’s attention to detail, both in the environment and the service, was second to none. Every part of the evening, from the walk to the restaurant to the impeccable service, felt magical. The food was spectacular — entree menus are new daily, the freshest fish and ingredients, prepared perfectly. Our server’s recommendations were spot on, and the service overall was warm, gracious, and attentive. They even brought extra bread and starter soup for my young son without charging, which was such a kind and memorable gesture. If I could change one thing, it would only be to arrive a little earlier to enjoy the ocean view in daylight, but even at twilight, the setting was serene and unforgettable. This was easily one of the best dining experiences of my life — a true once-in-a-lifetime memory for a milestone birthday. I would highly recommend Mama’s Fish House to anyone visiting Maui. Several locals in Maui told us, « There’s an amazing restaurant—but you need to book three months in advance. » We checked it out, out of curiosity, and were lucky to snag a reservation. Every glowing review was absolutely justified. The food was generous and perfectly prepared, the cocktails looked like pure magic, and the decor was beautifully thought out. But what really impressed me? The service. You pass multiple reception desks, yet never once repeat your name, they just know. There’s this quiet, seamless coordination between the staff. That’s what I call premium service! ”
“ We popped in randomly at the end of the day after finishing the road to Hana. One of our favorite places on the island! They sat us at the bar and offered my husband a shirt because you have to at least have sleeves lol which I thought was great. The atmosphere is so lax and pretty, opening up right to the ocean. The service was fast and the food was delicious. Drinks were also fantastic. The oysters were the best we’ve ever had. You should for sure try them. They’re full of flavor. I got the bouillabaisse which was sooo good, the fish in it tasted fresh and the broth was perfect. I finished with the softest Chantilly cake I’ve ever had. I recommend trying this place or planning your trip around a time they have reservations available to be sure you can eat here! We got lucky sitting at the bar because apparently they’re booked pretty far out. Loved it though ”
“ The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing. We had a table closer to the beach in a garden area. A little warm, the staff quickly turned on fans without asking which was a welcome relief for our mid day meal. By far the service was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Our waiter, Jimmy, was amazing and the whole experience seemed to be coordinated and in sync with the whole staff. The food was incredible. We ordered many small plates and mains to share and could not have been happier. The back of the house staff deserves a standing ovation. Book this place in advance! ”
“ One word: Flawless. From start to finish, everything was excellent. The valet drivers were very polite and professional, the greeter just behind the valet desk was very friendly, the location and design of the building are breathtaking! When we got to our table we noticed a card congratulating us on our honeymoon! Our server Aaron was so attentive and knew the menu like the back of his hand, he was very good at his job. This was some of the best food we have ever tasted! We had the best Mai Tai and the fish collars for an appetizer. For entrees, the mango curry and beef short rib were out of this world!! We topped it all off with the black pearl dessert which was almost too beautiful to eat. Book your reservations 5-6 months in advance and don’t pay attention to the prices, I promise it’s worth it. Mama’s exceeded every expectation we had. ”

Checked in and proceeded down the stairs to the next check in. Everyone was super nice. The view is captivating. The restaurant is open and feels secluded. We were seated and greeted by our waiter. He was helpful in walking us through the menu. We made our food options and it didn't disappoint. Everything was phenomenal. Period. So so happy with our visit. Highly recommend!! ”
